We want players here who are going to be here for the long term. Players who buy houses here, who settle in the area. Ronnie Moran, Joe Fagan, Bob Paisley, Roy Evans - they were hard on us young players. If you got a 'well done' off Ronnie Moran, you must have played well... They never used superlatives at Liverpool.

If I was managing Chelsea, people wouldn't be saying Paul Jewell was a nice guy, they would be saying I had too much money to spend. On balance, I would quite like it at the end of the season if people don't like us.
