Worrying about the dunya is a darkness in the heart, while worrying about akhirah is a light in the heart.

Pondering the material world is a gloom in the soul, while preoccupying oneself with the afterlife is an illumination in the soul.

If the hearts are pure, they will never have enough from reciting Allah's words (the Qur'an).

If the souls are serene, they will never tire of repeating Allah's verses (the Qur'an).

Acquire wisdom from the story of those who have already passed.

Glean insight from the tales of those who have gone before.

Enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil before the worst amongst you are given authority over you and then when even the best of you make dua against them, their duas will not be accepted.

Encourage what is righteous and prohibit what is wrong before the most wicked amongst you are given control over you and then when even the most virtuous of you supplicate against them, they will not be heard.

No one conceals something in his heart, but Allah causes it to be seen on his face or in a slip of the tongue.

No one keeps a secret in his soul, but Allah reveals it through his expression or with an inadvertent remark.

Three worldly things have been made dear to me: feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and reading the Qur'an.

I cherish providing sustenance for the needy, clothing those who are destitute and reciting the Qur'an.

It is sufficient for you that the one who envies you is distressed at the time of your joy.

Absorption in worldly affairs breeds darkness in the heart, and absorption in the affairs of the next world enkindles light in the heart

Take note of the fact that I am a follower (of the religion) and not an innovator.

If anyone stumbles then he must repent. If anyone errs then he must repent. And no one must insist on (the path of) destruction. If anyone insists on tyranny then he is far away from the path

Allah the Exalted loves him who forgoes worldly life, the Angels love him who rejects the vices, and the Muslims love him who gives up greediness in respect of the Muslims.
